1. I am a procrastinator. I seem to always wait until something "has" to be done before I do it.
2. My dad makes me strawberry short cake for my birthday every year. He knows it's my favorite.
3. I LOVE to play soccer. I played in junior high, high school, and college. Now I play adult league, So much Fun!!!
4. No one seems to fold the towels right at my house. My mom taught me how to fold towels at a very young age and it drives me crazy if it is done wrong (then the towels don't fit in the cupboard right!).
5. I am a Sunday afternoon napper. If I don't get my nap on Sunday, well, if you have kids you know what it's like when they don't get their nap!
6. I love McDonald's french fries. Only if they're hot and fresh. Sometimes I go there without my kids and get them for a snack!
7. I can't sing, no I take that back. I can sing. I just shouldn't!

Happy Day after Halloween!!!
(there's always something to celebrate this time of year, right!)
We had a Spooky good time
Last night was such a great night for trick-or-treating. The weather was good, the kids were dressed up so cute, and there was lots of candy to be had! This was the first year of Halloween in our new neighborhood. It was so much fun walking from house to house and in our case putting a face to a house. We know a lot of people in the neighborhood now but not necessarily where they lived. This year Gracy started out wanting to be a princess. That was not a surprise, she always wants to be a princess. Lexy decided early on to be a zombie which grew into a zombie prom queen after a little surfing the net to get costume ideas. Then a week before Halloween Gracy changed her mind and wanted to be a pirate. Brent and I were a little uncreative this year but dressed up as BSU Fans. We trick-or-treated with our friends The Morrison's and two friends from our culdesac. If your kids were anything like ours you couldn't keep up with them for the first hour or so, they were running from house to house. But by the end you were holding their bag of candy and dragging them along or carrying them. That was what happened with Gracy anyways. It was fun, here's a few of our pictures. Hope you all had a spooky time too.

Fun Fall "F"otos
The soccer season has ended. Gracy and Lexy had such a fun time playing and meeting new friends. Both proved to be awesome strikers, I like to think I taught them well, and scored goals for their teams. Lexy plays the entire field so good, and Gracy has a strong competitive spirit I guess you would call it. She tries to outrun everyone, especially the boys. Here's a few of their pictures...

Silly Pumpkin Faces
Sunday after church Lexy and Gracy were feeling a little creative. So I found a box of face parts, gave them a pumpkin, and let them create. They played well over an hour, and thank goodness for digital cameras, they had to take picture after picture of each one. We had some funky faces. Mostly monsters, some had many noses, ears, and eyes as you can see.
We thought this looked like a mosquito
I hope you don't run into any of these kinds of monsters on Halloween!

Perfect Pumpkin' Pickin
Gracy had a great time at the Pumpkin Patch. They were all her favorites, especially the little gords. She couldn't pick just one so we came home with a basket full.
We had so much fun with her class from school that we decided to take the cousins when they came up to visit. Everyone had such a fun time. They ran through corn mazes, straw bale mazes, and rows and rows of pumpkins. Each one found their perfect pumpkin.

My brother's the BEST!
Since we moved in I have had two projects I wanted to get done and absolutely no time to do it. I really wanted to paint the room in the basement to use as a guest/scrapbooking room, and the girls' bathroom was awful. It had a flower border that was way outdated and needed a new shower surround. So I called up my big brother and he came to help (actually he has done all the work). I picked a really bright blue/turquoise color for the bedroom and we decided to paint and tile the bathroom. I'll update when it's done.

Trying to Have a Party
For weeks I have been planning a birthday party. Gracy was turning 6 and she really wanted to invite friends from school so I thought I would plan her a big party out in the yard. I watched the weather forecast for 2 weeks before the date and picked Saturday because it was predicted to be the best day. I rented a big inflatable sports arena and had lots of games planned for the yard. As the days got closer Saturday started not looking so great, but I hoped it would atleast stay dry for the day. Well, if you were in I.F. Saturday you know the rest of the story. Her outdoor, fall birthday party turned into a party at the kitchen table, thankfully our power, yes! the power went out it was so bad, came back on literally 3 minutes before the first guest arrived. What a day! It turned out fabulous, thanks to the dollar store. Some quick crafts and games and we were having a blast. Gracy had a great time and loved every minute of her party.
( I can't believe my baby is 6!)

Brand New
"A little boy's world, as small as it seems, Is as broad as the future, as
high as his dreams!" -Barbara Kunz
high as his dreams!" -Barbara Kunz
Yesterday afternoon my neice gave birth to a healthy baby boy. There is nothing on this earth like the birth of a new soul. The feeling you get from hearing their first sounds is one that you can never forget. Although I couldn't be there I got to hear him cry for the first time, and in that instant I fell in love with him.

Dusting
My sister sent this to me today. I don't know who wrote it but I like her!
"A house becomes a home when you can write "I love you" on the furniture." I can't tell you how many countless hours that I have spent CLEANING! I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect -"in case someone came over". Then I realized one day that no one came over; they were all out living life and having fun! Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the "condition" of my home. They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun. If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice. Life is short. Enjoy it! Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead. Dust if you must, but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!
Hope you all take the time to have a little fun today.

Rainy Day
Today is great! It is one of those days where you find a comfy, quiet spot in your house and do nothing. The rain is still coming down, there's a pretty good breeze, the air is cold. Brent is sleeping in his recliner and the girls are upstairs playing together. They were so funny after church today. Yesterday I was singing "Cheeseburger in Paradise..." to Lexy in the car and she thought I was crazy, she even rolled her eyes at me. But the song must have got stuck in her head. She helped Gracy create a pretty funny "musical" of sorts to it. They danced and sang around the kitchen floor, making up routines to the words and each doing a different part. I can't really explain it in writing but if you've ever seen them do a performance you know what I'm talking about. And everyone has to watch, which today was just Brent and I. So we had to watch over and over while they perfected it. It was pretty funny I have to admit.
Hope all of you are enjoying your Sunday. And have a great week.

Happy Fall Y'all!!!
Hello everyone. Finally, my favorite time of year is here. I love everything about Fall. From the smells to the colors to the cool, crisp air to the layers of clothing to BSU football..... I could go on.... but I'm sure you get my point.
This year we planted a garden, and have been enjoying our "harvest". By "harvest" I mean lots and lots and lots of zucchini. We tried giving some of it away. That worked for awhile. But people can only eat so much, I guess. So we had to get creative. We found lots of things to put zucchini in and disguise it so the kids would eat it. Ever try zucchini brownies, cookies, crisp, meatloaf...? If you have different ideas please share. If you want recipes, let me know. They were all very good.
I hope to keep friends and family updated through this blog. I will post happenings and photos, thoughts, etc. on this page so please visit often. For now, enjoy the great outdoors
